Our hollow masonry blocks (commonly known as "Besser" or "Cinder" blocks, are suitable for load bearing (when core-filled) and non-load bearing applications. Grey Concrete Masonry is a staple building material in residential and commercial projects around the world. Masonry blocks are recognised by architects, specifiers, builders, engineers and block-layers for their strength, durability and cost-effectiveness in a wide range of applications.
Like our other pressed concrete products, Superbrick blocks are manufactured to the Australian standard. Each block is pressed in a steel mould producing each block to exact dimensions. You can be certain that the correct cement mix is applied in their manufacture, unlike the local hand-made competitive products where cement is routinely removed from the mix to lower cost in order to pay middle-men's fees.
- perimeter fences
- internal walls
- veneer wall construction.
Using blocks can save time and money...it is much faster to build as the blocks can be laid and service lines (water, sewage, electrical etc) can be laid in via the large cavities in the blocks as the wall is built) in less time. And a wall made of blocks costs around 70% of the cost of the same sized wall using bricks because of the price differential between the products.
When building a fence or wall for a single-level house you can build in the vertical support columns and bond beams by laying steel in the block and then core-fill with concrete.
